Christmas is over and we are trying to clean the house up from all the activities. David said on Saturday evening that "Now you can say the house is trashed". Thanks honey. The boys got models for Christmas and they had the card table out with all the model stuff on it, plus the Lego sets, and an engine kit. There were cups and plates and extras in the kitchen that was making it very cluttery, and the living rooms still had boxes and paper in them. We are getting it all spic and span today though. Unfortunately, our house has this odd smell of a dead mouse in it. (Another perk of living on a farm) I have been cleaning out closets, drawers, cabinets and anything else I can get my hands on. It is quite exciting to be this geared up about cleaning. It will make going back to work next week easier knowing that the house is cleaned and somewhat organized.
I hope you all had a great holiday. We enjoyed family here for Christmas Eve supper like we always do, then we went to church at 8:00 p.m. for Christmas Eve service. That has been our tradition since before the kids were born. We almost got David's grandma to spend the night, but she changed her mind at the last minute. The kids got up at 8:00 and opened their gifts. David always cooks a big breakfast of omelets and ham. After breakfast David and Andy went and did the feeding, Rachel, Ryan and I stayed in. I took a nap, and the kids played with their new Christmas goodies. Ryan kinda had a shocked look on his face when he got the Rural Transit brochure out of his stocking. We threw it away after we assured him it was all in fun.
Rachel is going to a sleep over tonight at a friends house, also named Rachel. The boys are out helping their dad this afternoon. I am off to finish up with the housework. (I think I will light a candle and see if I can get rid of this smell, or at least cover it up!)
Have a good start to your week!!
